Bio-hydrox is an ecological oxidant that delivers similar and better results than ozonation with the additional benefit of long residual protection.
It comes in the form of a liquid chemical, more reactive and more effective than chlorinated products, more stable, with longer residual activity, does not alter the pH of the water, does not need protection from sunlight, does not harm bio-filters, it provides healthier environment for aquatic and marine life and does not create any toxic by-products.
FDA has recognized all components as GRAS and it is NSF/ANSI 60 approved for the following as a drinking water treatment product for use as disinfectant, oxidant, flocculant and coagulant, biofilm control, corrosion and scale control, alguicide, molluscide, bactericide, biocide, membrane cleaning and well disinfection aid.
In aquariums, reefs and marine parks treated with Bio-hydrox you can expect no smell and the best-looking water you have ever seen. It will achieve the following:
- Removal of fine and colloidal solids by causing clumping of the solids (micro-flocculation), which facilitates removal by foam-fractionation, filtration and sedimentation.
- Removal of dissolved organics by oxidation into products that are more readily nitrified in the biofilter; including precipitation, which enables removal of waste particles by conventional filtration or sedimentation.
- Removal of ammonia and nitrite by direct oxidation to nitrate; reducing organic loading, which improves biofiltration efficiency and nitrification.
- Effective disinfection. It can effectively eliminate a wide range of bacterial, viral, fungal and protozoan fish pathogens.
- Precipitation of metals, such as aluminum.
- Algae control
- Destruction of harmful inorganic components, such as sulfides.
- Degradation of pesticides and detergents.
- Powerful oxidizing agent. Reduces BOD and COD levels.
- Very fast reacting. Does not require residence time.
- Increase of oxygen content in the water.
- Significant improvement of the health of fish, mammals and all aquatic life.
